I'd still say Spartacus, Ben Hur and possibly Fall of the Roman Empire top it.

Nothing beats gladiator even though movies like sparticus paved the way. As stated before: DEFINATLY.

Rome is a superb TV series that I think definitely rates up there with these great movies, probably even more so since it's around 20 hours long all together and retains high quality throughout.
