Gave med mad chills. Zimmer is in a class of his own

This entire score gets my vote for one of the best ever.
Zimmer's newer stuff with Chris Nolan...not so much.

Yes. It's unbelievable.

I think his best score is The Thin Red Line. Gladiator is a good core but Zimmer's copying of Holst and Wagner is too obvious. Influences are one thing, copying is another.

Gladiator was a fantastic score, however IMO his best score was to Crimson Tide (that is the score that really put him on the map).

The soundtrack is undoubtedly a masterpiece. Would have been nice if they had added a music-only audio track option on the Blu-Ray alongside the existing ones, could then watch it like a silent film with all dialogue handled via subtitles. I guess it could happen on a future re-issue.

Not sure if the soundtrack beats that of Lawrence of Arabia but it is certainly amongst the greatest of all time.

I'd say Prince of Egypt is his best work, even though I'm not really a fan of that film.

I really like "Detach" from 'Interstellar': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlJ8vbl9lR4
