Not one I'd choose to watch again ... and that's my real test of a movie. Really doesn't warrant it's ranking if compared to the incredible 1960 epic 'Spartacus', now that is a gladiator movie, and then some.

The Academy also wet their pants over Titanic which is one of the most average films that has dominated the Oscars in the year it was nominated. I also think Gladiator, whilst a good film gets a ridiculous amount of praise on here. 8.5 seems excessive when you compare it to Spartacus. There's plenty of superior films below this in the IMDb in my opinion.
