Weirdest death scene in any movie
The scene where Commodus kills his father by hugging him chalks up as one of the strangest death scenes in any movie... It was beyond metaphorical or symbolic of their love. It was quite literal.
shareI agree it was a bit odd but it was still a dramatically great scene even though of course it was completely historically inaccurate.
Someone dying from the plague makes for much less interesting drama.
It's not that weird, Commodus wanted him dead but couldn't just stab him because it needed to look like a natural death. Plus Marcus was already weak so killing him that way was how he was able to claim his title as emperor without rousing suspicion.
