Hans Zimmer's score

I'm a great fan of this film and Hans Zimmer's award-winning score, however, The predominant theme never fails to remind me of "We love you Conrad" from BYE BYE BIRDIE! I also imahine a little Holst's Planets, too.
I love many types of music, therefore have a memory full-to-bursting. Y think I may hear what isn't there.

It's *beep* LEGENDARYT. I remember when Andrea Bocelli sung Il Gladiatore at the 2009 Champions League final in Rome:

Instantly made me think of Gladiator... and even better Man Utd got smashed that night.

The Gladiator score was the first film soundtrack I've bought in many years, I regard it as Hans Zimmer's finest work. Even playing the CD in the car it's easy to visualise the scenes the different pieces represent, from the two stirring battle sequences (The Battle/Barbarian Horde) to the hauntingly sad accompaniment to the murder of Marcus Aurelius (Patricide) and the wonderful finale featuring the voice of Lisa Gerrard. Stunning music throughout the whole movie, I'd give the soundtrack 10/10 as I did the film.

This means something, this is important.

Hans Zimmer's score for Gladiator was a modern day Wagner creation ... beautiful, heroic and haunting ... combined with the visual imagery based on Lawrence Alma-Tadema's vision of Rome makes it one of the most powerful movies ever made ...
