Close-ups

It sure seemed the director loved to keep Winona Ryder's face right up in the camera a lot. Most of her shots were extremely close. I'm not complaining cause she has a nice face, but it seemed unusually numerous.

I had never seen this movie before. I kinda enjoyed it. I didn't know until I came here that it was base upon a true story. Dealing with people like Lisa for about 18 months had to be over-bearing at times. I'm glad she got out and turned her ordeal into a positive.

I am bothered by Daisy's suicide. While no one really knew much about it, the movies portrays Lisa and Suzanna as being there when it happened. Very poor taste on the part of Hollywood.

Even the film's promotional posters kind of focus on this aspect. I guess when the film is largely set in a 60's sanatorium, there's not going to be a lot more on which to aim the cameras. The director might be trying to suggest we are getting inside the protagonists' heads.🐭

Early in the film Winona is heavily made up. Not sure why or if we were supposed to notice the change or if it was supposed to be a metaphor.
