I just watched this and the whole time I was thinking "This is the most undisciplined, unorganized Army I've ever seen." If you don't like the drill or training you're free to just walk off through the trees and do something else. Feel free to disable Army property and when you don't think your buddy should have to run alone as punishment it's absolutely up to you if you want to jump down and run with him. The best way to get on the D.I.s good side is to question his orders, ask him his first name, and have a smoke together while you both have a heart to heart. You can absolutely try to kill another soldier and not only are there no repercussions you're even presented with the opportunity to try it again with a conveniently procured magazine of live rounds.
