Why didn't bozz just complain about the psyco guy ?

at the end of the movie when they were in the woods

why didn't bozz, say he's psyco ?

reply

The Army had already said they'd deal with him "in their own way" which turned out to mean transferring him to another platoon rather than hold a court martial. Why would Bozz think a complaint would be acted on?

reply

They are gonna send him to war anyway because he is such a psyco

But in the second training manouver at Tigerland they already know that they'll be going up against "The same guys as yesterday". If I was Bozz I would have been tempted to mention the fact that one of the guys on the other team was an attempted murderer. But then again having a guy on the other team who actually wants to kill you would be pretty good practice.

Remember that this was in 1969 or so, and the draft was fully in place. It wasn't as easy to get out of the army as it may be now, so from the government's point of view, any able-BODIED male was fit to serve. Psychos were probably made even more so at boot camp and with further training.
