Is this a remake of another movie

It looks famliar to a movie I watched in my child hood. whatever that movie was it was not popular but has simlar "fight the system...hate illing...but good at whatever it do when I want to" quality.

You are very close to being correct. Don't think an actual remake but extremely similar to an excellent 1970 film entitled Tribes with Jan-Michael Vincent and Darren McGavin. Check out details here:

You're more than welcome. I'd like to watch Tribes again. Been a long time but I think both movies were seriously thought provoking
