A TikTok user posting under the name @redcobweb took to the social media app to share footage from the movie in which there is a clear error with Carrey's costume. She spotted the fail in a scene that shows his character, the Grinch, returning to his home after wreaking havoc on the festive celebrations in nearby Whoville. To date her TikTok video has been watched more than three million times - and many commenters have expressed their shock at not spotting the error earlier - particularly as the movie came out more than 20 years ago.
