Two Versions?

I was wondering if there were two different versions of the film in question. Another part of this website gave some sort of information regarding this. It makes it seem like the television broadcast of it is longer. Like the DVD release doesn't have the resolution to the Christmas lights story arc that is briefly in the film. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yeah I know, it's like when Jaws shows on TV there are extra scenes there that are not on ANY video version.

On TV's Grinch, Lou maxes out another credit card and it gets all the bells and whistles going at the store, Cindy gets in trouble at school for saying she wants to do her report on the Grinch, at the post office people are saying 'Lou, I need it there tomorrow, today, yesterday', when Martha says 'Goodnight, Betty' she's going out on a date with the mayor, etc.

There is an ABC Family version. After seeing the theater version, I didn't like the TV version at all.
