but here, his tendency to overact was pushed to the furthest limits to the point where he made the Grinch annoying as Hell. I know you're not supposed to like the Grinch at first, but I doubt Dr. Seuss saw him as a schizophrenic dumbass.

sharewow, a lot of negative comments about this movie around this board, i never got it either, well, for adults the only thing appealing is martha may whovier's outfits and acting, i suppose this must be very groovy for kids with all the colours and magic like atmosphere, i find it actually looks a lot like a tv-movie. i'm surprised jim carry was already making family mainstream movies in the year 2000, only a few years prior he starred in just the funniest movies like "dumb and dumber" and "me, myself and irene", it seems he went on to star in corny mainstream family movies, why even put jim carrey in this, the role is like a cartoon, they could have put anyone in the part. i didn't realise until now there is a movie from the 1960s by the same name starring horror icon boris karloff (frankenstein). i gotta check that out.
