Love-making scene between Rita and Bettie, What does Bettie say?

i'm busy watching the love-making scene between Bettie and Rita. Whilst they are kissing, Bettie says something to Rita but I couldn't hear it. Does anyone know what she said?

reply

Betty says the line "I'm in love with you." twice. IMHO this is notably different from saying "I love you" which can suggest a more compassionate and caring action. "I am in love..." a more self centered state of mind related to "desire". Note how it is Betty who actually reaches out to kiss Rita after Rita has thanked Betty and kissed her forehead. Betty also reaches out to embrace Rita. Rita never replies to Betty. Rita's line "Goodnight sweet Betty can have a deeper meaning. Note the shot of Betty's hand inside of Rita's suggesting a "hold" on Betty.

I thought he was talking about this:

Have you ever done this?

And a very strange answer - 'I don't know...have you?'

She didn't understand the question or what? If she's made out with another female before, if anyone should know it should be her.

That's what I thought the OP was talking about...guess not.

..kind of joke there, she has no memory so how would she know...riiight?

reply

Could be. OP never replied to clarify. I presumed it was the "I'm in love with you" since the poster asked about Betty's line and does not mention Rita's question. Also I found the swelling music made it more difficult to make out the line " I'm in love with you" more so than the other spoken dialogue. The entire scene includes Betty's line "I want to...with you" after Rita's question"...have you?".

"She didn't understand the question or what?"

Rita does not have any memory so her answer seems reasonable. I consider the lines to suggest mental ignorance of a repetitive cycle the film is depicting.

Yeah are you not realizing Rita has amnesia? So she wouldn't know if she's ever munched carpet.

Holy shit. That has to be in the Top 10 dumbest IMDB/MovieChat forum posts of all time.
