i can't believe the hate

i seriously thought that this movie would have had loads of comments and at leas a 9.2 rating!
i've watched it so many times over and it never gets old nor for me, nor for my family.
why the hate? it';s a good film, enjoy it.

I agree wholeheartedly! I'm planning a posting on my entertainment blog with a column titled, 'The Best Movies noone ever Saw,' and 'Interstate 60' is one of those films I want as one of my first.

I think because it reminds me so much of a Twilight Zone episode, that I enjoy it. Then again, Bob Gale's scripts do float my boat.

Do you have a link for that blog? If you made it. I love I60.

I haven't seen it yet and like James Marsden and love Gary Oldman, they're showing it now on one of the Encore movie channels.

So I can't say yay or nay yet.

But I will say OP, people are allowed to have an opinion.

I'm so tired of the word "hater", when someone isn't drooling over a film, show or actor.

Everyone doesn't have to like the same thing.

I guess you either loved it or hated it.

I for one loved the fantasy road trip with a life lesson learned every stop. It was a Libertarian jab at the government, lawyers, art snobs etc.

reply

Libertarian??? I see no such thing. There is no need to put political labels on everything, is there? This was just a fun fantasy movie along the lines of a Twilight Zone movie but lighter hearted and in no way is it representative of a political grouping beliefs.

The movie had a political statement.

reply

I saw none at all. What message did you get from it? Some people read political statements in everything they see. This had messages, but I saw none that were political, only about life in general.

The lead actor ruined it for me, he had a "duh" attitude the entire film and his over the top naivety reminded me of a 15 year old Tom Cruz, learn to act please.

The town made up of only lawyers?

The town that allowed the most addictive drug ever to be legal?

His stop with the art?

This movie was full of messages.

A rate over 7 is nothing to be ashamed of, for a completely unknown movie, especially with all the haters trolling around the boards. It means it had a lot of good ratings. People are different, they look for different things. Sometimes "popular" and trendy movies are not for you, even if everyone else is going to tell you they are "awesome" and you're crazy not to like it (I hated The Hangover, Titanic, I'm used to the feeling) and sometimes there's a small movie that people will either hate or love. If you love it, then you'll have something others didn't. That's all that should matter. Not what other people think of it.

Yeah, I know this now. I wrote this when I was really new to this and didn't understand that 7 is great, and even 6.5 is not that bad, overall. Also when I wrote it the movie ranked at about 6+, and I was kinda upset because it's one of the highly referenced movies in my family, and I was like "WHY DON'T YOU ALL LOVE IT UGH PEASANTS" *uncomfortable silence*

So you thought this movie would at least be the highest ranked movie on IMDB (tied with Shawshank and Godfather), and ahead of scores of great iconic films of the past 80 years? Okey dokey.

reply

When I wrote this I really did not understand the ranking on this site, but I still think that it should have a high ranking. Not 9.2, of course (I myself rarely mark movies higher than 8), but surely higher than the score it used to have when I wrote it, which was around 6.1 or something. Just my opinion.
