Will KISS Ever Do A New Album?

Not since 1998's Psycho Circus KISS has not released an album of new material. Since then they have been re-releasing many greatest hits, live versions, box sets, coffee shops and everything else under the sun. I am a huge KISS fan myself and it's time that KISS give the fans what we really want, A NEW ALBUM!!

I don't think the general public would buy into a new KISS album at this point, but I personally would only be interested in a new KISS album if the "Revenge" line-up of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, and Bruce Kulick reunited to record a new album. KISS is not the hot commodity they were in the 70s, 80s, nor late 90s. The only reason why their last album "Psycho Circus" was a hit was because it was released right after the mega-phenomenon of KISS 1996-1997 REUNION TOUR. Everything went downhill for the band after the Reunion Tour concluded.

Will this mean they will tour agin?

Are you crazy? KISS has been (pretty much) bigger than ever! KISS coffeshop, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Kissology... and people buy it!

I'd like to see a new CD. I love KISS, and they're probably my favorite band, but their songs are getting a bit tired and recycled. A new album would be nice.

A new album is unlikely at this point... Simmons has his TV show ("Family Jewels") and various business ventures going on, Stanley is apparently working very hard at painting, and it seems like they're content to simply call up the two ringers (Thayer and Singer), slap on the makeup, and go play the oldies on the casino/festival circuit every once in a while. Paul had hip replacement surgery a while ago and he also recently had to sit out a concert because of a rapid heartbeat, so they're not getting any younger either. They're obviously preparing to move on with life post-KISS.

I can live with that, personally, cuz I've been listening to KISS since the late 70s and I thought PSYCHO CIRCUS was a pretty bad record. If that was the best they could come up with then maybe they should just keep sweatin' to the oldies.

They're on their European tour right now and it's going great despite of Paul's bronchitis. They sold out two arena show's here in Finland, the first one in under 6 minutes, and the second one in under 9 minutes, that's over 10 000 tickets each.

I saw both of the shows and I gotta tell you, it was better than I would have expected. The guys still got it. Even though Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer are musically the best parts in KISS right now, Gene and Paul both give 100% on stage, and you would not think they're closing on 60.
They play the whole Alive album and a bunch of their biggest hits after that.
They have the rising stages, blood spitting, fire spitting, Paul flying over the audience, pyros, bombs, Gene flying, Eric's killer drum solo, the whole nine yards. It was one of the best live shows I've seen, and I've seen The Who too!

They have been talking about a possible South American tour after they leave europe, and a Japan Tour. There are also rumours circulating that they might come back to Europe next year.

So they're not calling it quits anytime soon. Allthough I don't think they'll release a new studio album, at least not in the near future.

I actually thought that Psycho Circus was a great album.

Carnival of Souls, now THAT'S a bad KISS record.

Lighting in a bottle. Psycho Circus sucked and the original band will never be together again. They weren't even together on Psycho Circus. .

It would be interesting, but not gonna happen.Unless they put on another fake Farewell Tour, and make a real KISS album featuring all 4 originals.

Just as there is a band that only tours under the name Lynyrd Skynyrd but is not, so too with KISS. But at least KISS still has balls. Thayer actually plays Ace better than Ace. Not so ANY drummer with Criss' stuff. They just never had/have his feel.

Anyhoo.

Sorry but they were together for Psycho Circus. The original lineup played Dodger stadium on Halloween 1998 for the Psycho Circus tour. They were unbelievably awesome and I was totally excited to see Peter and Ace again. I'd have to pull out my program but I believe that was their last show of the tour. They gave out 3D glassed for the 3D monitors on each side of the stage. If anyone else was at that L.A. show speak up! It was an experience. I would like to see what others thought.

On stage yes, on the album no. Yeah the 3-D glasses were part of the whole tour.
