Did KISS make a disco song?

During the scene on the road they kind of discuss KISS making a disco song and they say it will never happen. I don't know much about KISS and just watched it for the comedy aspect, but it seemed like a strong reaction from the boys and made me think they did do a disco song. So did they, and if so, what was it? I'd love to hear what they did.

Mike.

I think I Was Made For Lovin' You has been widely regarded as a disco song. So I guess that's what you're looking for.

Yeah "I Was Made For Lovin' You" is considered a disco song written by Paul Stanly on the "Dynasty" album. That whole album had a disco feel to it which is why most KISS fans consider it one of the bands worst albums.

reply

I actually thought maybe that was the disco-ish song but thought it's still a nice rock tune. I actually like it a lot. Okay, thanks for the help!

reply

That was when I gave up on KISS. Never bought another of their albums.

Because they were such a serious band before?

Do you know the way to Shell Beach?

reply

yep, I Was Made For Lovin You was a disco song, and a pretty big too! i despise it though

reply

They made a whole disco album, Dynasty.

"I was made for loving you" is not a disco song. There was instead a disco remix of that song on the radio. But the original album version relased by KISS wasn't disco.

reply

I had the album. It was disco.

Look up the album, "Dynasty"

It was mostly disco, or as I call it "KISSco" and "Where KISS Lost its way."

There's a mad man in there with his hand on a...on a BUTTON!

reply

'I was made for lovin you' is a rock-disco song.

reply

The Song "I" was pure disco. They even did a video for the song in full disco fashion.

This song got a lot of play in the clubs.

Nice head band Paul!

I may be alone in this idea, but i always thought Dynasty was like a f#$% disco album.

New York Groove is a solo song on Ace's solo album. It was the only one of the solo albums to have a hit. And it's not disco. Even some music labled as disco isn't disco.

But yes, IWMFLY is disco.

It might be the funk style guitar that reminds you of disco. Disco was a 'mainstream' offshoot of funk.

Yes they did. That was why they put that line in the film.Because in 1979 Kiss had a huge hit with a rock disco song called I Was Made For Lovin' You.

reply

I think VH1 summed it up best. What pissed KISS fans off was not only did they release a whole disco album... is it was actually pretty good.

Personally, I've never gotten musical snobbery.

reply

I liked that album also. Actually I like when a band goes outside their comfort zone as long as it is good.

...............ZING!

reply

I mean ....The Stones put a disco beat on Miss You & Pink Floyd put a disco beat on Another Brick in the Wall. KISS certainly wasn't alone in doing this. Can you say Rod Stewart Do You Think I'm Sexy? It was a late 70's trend.

reply

Don't forget Blondie with Heart of Glass. Only disco tune on the Parallel Lines album.
