Carrie loving that awful short haircut

Ok did anyone else find it completely unrealistic that Carrie loved that butchered short haircut? I just can't picture her character thinking that looked good, there was one episode where she got pissed at her hair stylist when they got her bangs slightly wrong and her hair still looked great. Yet when she came out of the salon with that awful special ed Simple Jack short hair she looked excited and seemed to be in love with it.

In what world would any sane person look in the mirror and think that butchered atrocity looked in any way good?

I can let the hair bun episode slide cause it didn't look that bad, and i could see a woman liking that look, but her loving that Simple Jack butchered haircut? nah i can't see any woman on any planet liking that. It seemed way too forced just for the sake of the plot, and it wasn't true to the character at all, someone who wears expensive designer dresses, who always looks great, suddenly has no taste and thinks a terrible Simple Jack haircut looks good.

When it comes to their hair, most women don't seem to know or care what straight men find attractive. Women and gay men dominate the hair styling profession, and often encourage women to crop their hair. When the woman makes her first appearance, invariably all of her female friends, co-workers, and relatives will squeal with delight at how cute her new butch hairdo looks. There's nothing but positive reinforcement.

Also, thanks for introducing me to the term "simple Jack" haircut. I learn something new every day. I don't understand how any woman in her right mind could be led to believe such a Moe/Vulcan/Soup-bowl monstrosity looks flattering.
