I heard a rumor that they might start up the whole Alex Cross franchise again, but this time concentrate on the character's earlier years and cast Morgan's son Alfonso, who looks just like his dad, in the lead.

Apparently Alfonso (aka Morgan Jr.) is getting alot of buzz for this new movie he just did, "Ten 'til Noon", where he plays a lead villian. What if the Alex Cross character became the James Bond of serial killer chasers, changing actors and spanning generations?

Anybody know anything about this?

I've also posted something similar on the Kiss the Girls page, because I love the Alex Cross films and would relish the idea of seeing them continue this way.

I saw that trailer for Alfonso's new movie, looks pretty freaking trippy...
And seeing he and his father in a movie together would be cool. I saw him in the SharkTank Redemption and thought it was Morgan at first, and then when I found out he was in Shawshank I was intent on finding him there too...

Alfonso is the young Morgan Freeman in the prison file you see in each parole hearing.

I emailed James Patterson's website to see if there was any truth to the rumors and he hasn't responded. Which either means he's ignoring a dumb rumor OR he can't say anything until they sign on the dotted line. Maybe they're waiting to see how Alfonso's other movie does.
