Those are three movies that Stir of Echoes lifted from...not 100% sure about the shining since it came out the same year, though it's not uncommon for near identical movies to go into production at the same time who's writers have doubtlessly pinched from one another.

You're both retarded. The Shining came out in 1980, Stir of Echos came out in 1999, The Sixth Sense came out in 1999 and The Dead Zone came out in 1983.

Richard Matheson wrote Stir of Echoes in 1958 while Stephen King wrote The Shining in 1977. King has even admitted to Matheson being one of the greatest influences for his writing. In this instance, if anyone lifted the concept of the "Shine" it was King.
share^^^exactly. The book this film was adapted from was published in the 50's. If anything, the Shining (which was written afterwards, obviously) was inspired by Stir of Echoes. Sixth Sense took inspiration from both...and more.
