Get Real DVD - hope for region 2?

I subscribe to an online DVD rental site and they have Get Real listed. They have the release date as not yet confirmed, but that suggests to me that it is at least on the big Release Date List somewhere in DVD land.

Or maybe I'm just hoping too much. I need the DVD!!!

I live in Germany and the DVD was released here last August. I know for sure it is also released in France, but as far as I know not yet in the UK. Don't know why, and don't understand it either.

Hm. I'm a little confused. I just bought the DVD from some weird "church?" yard sale for four dollars like two sundays ago. LOL. i'm serious, i just found it there, the lone DVD in all their VHS and cd-roms... so, if you're wondering whether it's out on DVD, it sure is because I own it. What sucks BIG TIME though is that there are no extras or commentary or deleted scenes! nothing! gaaah. but what the hey, it's a great coming-out/love movie. =]

edit: oops, i'm not sure what region 2 is....eee, sorry. i live in the USA

It seems you can get this DVD in Region 2 format anywhere in Europe - except the UK... ;o) I just got mine shipped from Belgium. It seems a bit ludicrous that you can get the movie in the USA and everywhere apart from the UK, when it's a British film. Shame on Paramount distribution.

I bought it last year, I'm from Holland, I bought it on the internet, a site where you can buy cd's dvd's and books, and more, it is in English but you can get Dutch and French subtitles, and you can put it on French spoken, you call it dubbing, i think, so it is for the Dutch, Belgium and I think also the French market.
I'm Dutch, what's your excuse

Get Real had been Released on VHS in the UK in 1999 and was subsequently deleted a year or so ago. The reason it is not yet released in the UK on DVD may be because that the Production Company in the UK who has the licence to sell it may be waiting or have some legal problems to get sorted before release. Every Country may have a different company who is licenced to distribute it accross the UK.

It should be here soon though.
