Romeo and Juliet

I just finished watching the movie off of YouTube, and I really, really enjoyed it. I also did like the allegory of Romeo and Juliet. The class had an assignment on it and it was mentioned several times throughout the movie. It's very similar to their lives, since they have a forbidden love that they need to keep quiet about. There are many similarities, and I really enjoyed it, since I just finished reading it for English. Our class even had the same project of memorizing the same speech from it.

Yes, this is a good similarity observation. In this case, the cause of their forbidden love was their orientation. But I noticed if you watched the movie closely, you will see that the Dixons are upper or upper-middle class level while the Carters are middle-class - this is for if you want to go somewhere more with the Romeo and Juliet direction. However, this would not really be a big problem as their sexuality and love for each other would be the main challenge between the families.

Romeo and Juliet didn't have a class difference - they're problem was that their families hated each other. They were both rich. Personally I didn't really see much similarity between Romeo and Juliet :S.

Oops I was thinking of something else, maybe just a typical scenario where class comes in the way of love! Anyways, Romeo and Juliet aside, class could be a hidden issue here. Still, that would make it a type of Romeo and Juliet scenario, but it would be their being homosexual as the obstacle.
