The Resident Evil games took inspiration from a lot of horror and sci fi moveis. The original was very Night of the Living Dead, with elements of Jaws (the shark attack). Resident Evil 2 definitely had an Aliens influence, as well as Assault on Precinct 13. There are probably loads of other movie inspirations in the games, but I can't think of them offhand.
The Tomb Raider games do this too, with the original being very Raiders of the Lost Ark, whilst number two has Venice speedboats like in The Last Crusade. Tomb Raider 3 has sections which resemble Jurassic Park and the mutants in Antarctica are straight out of The Thing.
