A banana, a swamp, an afro

Were these purposely meant to have sexual connotations?

reply

How do they have sexual connotations? Besides the banana, which obviously looked like a banana?

reply

I saw a bat.

reply

Me, too!

reply

1st : i saw a bat (just like you)

2nd : i saw the female reproduction engine (like in medecine book, from inside)

3d : i saw a plant

reply

An afro = a bush.

A swamp = any number of things!

reply

Well he told the parents she needs to associate with boys her own age, so maybe.
I love that scene. After she does the test he either looks like he finds deep meaning in those answers, or has no idea what he's doing. I'm not sure which.

I saw a bat, a hippo and a pumpkin!

The mirror... it's broken.
Yes, I know. I like it that way. Makes me look the way I feel.

reply

I saw a bat, butterfly and idk what the third was.

I thought that in the scene the man expected her to come up with macabre interpretations, which would point to her being obviously troubled. Instead she said very obscure, unusual and somewhat whimsical answers...clearly confusing the doctor.

reply

Me too, a bat, a butterfly and a vagina - just a funny thought, cause it looked like nothing else and it was a psychiatrist's office after all..

And I agree on the doctor's expectations, although I wouldn't say her answers were obscure - maybe in relation to the expectations. Rather, they were "normal", childlike and - nothing special, making them whimsical, as you said, because such simple answers were not expected.

reply

I saw a bat, a pelvis, and a bush.

reply

I saw a bat, a butterfly and nothing.

reply

A banana, a skull of a goat (?), a head of lettuce.
