While reading the book, did anybody picture Josh Hartnett as Trip? I thought Trip would be more handsome. The way Eugenides described him in the book, I was picturing someone like a young Alain Delon in Plein soleil.

What do you guys think? Bad casting?

Ummm, more handsome than Josh Hartnett in 1999? How demanding can one be when it comes to how good looking someone must be? Josh Hartnett was pretty good looking in this film (Shockingly bad wig aside) and this is coming from a straight guy!

DiCaprio. But I think he would be prettier than Kirsten Dunst back then. 😸

Don't get me wrong, Hartnett is a handsome guy... but I just think he was miscast. He just looks like a stoner (must be the wig), not a heartthrob as Eugenides described Trip.

I'm not so sure, Wayneo. I don't know of any straight guys that use "Um". Seems kind of feminine to me.

I hadn't seen this movie for years and was convinced that Ashton Kutcher played tis role. He would've been another good choice.
