This movie destroyed me

I cried for hours afterward too...did it affect anyone else the same way? I want to watch it again but don't feel emotionally ready.

Sadly, this was not an effective adaptation of the novel. The last third of the film really gets bogged down, and yes, frankly its a little boring.

reply

The book yes, the movie no. The book was much more moving.

I didn't really cry, but I too don't feel emotionally ready to watch it a 2nd time (I'm a guy and I saw it when it was released).

It does kinda screw around with your head. After reading the other comments I am definitely not going to read the book even though I am dying to.

I love this movie; I think it is really good. I want to read the book soon and yes, it made me cry too.

Yes, it affected me the same way. It's extremely heart wrenching. Those parents were horrible! Instead of learning from that first daughter that killed herself in the beginning, they became worse and worse, making their other daughters miserable and hopeless, until they killed themselves too.

This movie stayed with me for many days after I saw it.

I feel the same way.
I didn*t want the girls to have killed themselves.
But another reason was Kirstens amazing beauty in this movie. I felt so jealous!
