It reminded me more of Faces of Death except it was real but it still had that setup feeling that Faces had. There have been other shorts about violence and guns before too.

I thought the same thing. Michael Moore had to have seen this. I came upon it by accident on Youtube and was pretty shocked by how gruesome and hard hitting this documentary was (way back in '82!). I think that another problem with America is that, although we glorify violence and exaggerate it to some degree, we also have a tendency to whitewash it. It's hard to discuss guns being "bad" on the national stage when people don't see the many horrific deaths that result from them.

I'm not saying that we need a "faces of death" newscast, but it's really difficult to put statistical numbers into perspective. No one cares. It's as simple as that. People are more affected when they get to know the victims personally. Hopefully the recent slaughter of elementary children will wake people up into realizing that we need some form of gun control in this country. And as far as the old saying, "guns don't kill people, people kill people." Adam Lanza, James Holmes, etc. all acquired their guns legally. Of course, there are illegal ways of acquiring guns, but why make it easier than it needs to be?
