Did on-going feud between Mullally and Messing lead to show's cancellation ?

Apparently, there's been a feud going on between Megan Mullally and Debra Messing which the tabloids have been reporting about. Each actress has 'unfollowed' the other on social media the past six months or so, and each has left 'cryptic messages' on their own accounts (referring to the other actress). Mullally also missed two episodes for this season, and there's an assumption it may have to do with their feud.

It's speculated the dissolving of their friendship led to the network deciding to end this show.

This seems like tabloid fodder, unless someone from Will & Grace confirms that Megan Mullally won't be in the finale few episodes, and/or Megan is feuding with the cast it's only tabloid trash.

reply

Tabloid fodder is often proved true. I believe their sources are from the TV show, leaking to the press.

reply

Tabloid fodder isn't true, it's from gossip magazines that are on the internet. Their true sources aren't from the TV show, it's the staff from the tabloid magazines making up stuff about celebrities/movies/tv shows.

reply

Ok. Whatever you say.

reply

Mullaly missed two episodes this season ( if you’ve been watching this season) so the tabloid fodder was correct.

Will & Grace's final season is hard to watch amid rumors of a Megan Mullally-Debra Messing feud

"A whiff of enmity now hangs over the last episodes of Will & Grace that we are ever likely to get," Charlie Mason says of the feud rumors. "And frankly, I resent having to watch them wondering how many scenes and subplots were dictated less by creativity than acrimony. Am I being oversensitive? Is it asking too much to expect a group of celebrated, well-paid professionals to bury the hatchet — again, one that we can’t know exists to need burying — in order to deliver to fans of their series a last hurrah that’s really worth cheering?"

Sad

It definitely sucks. We didn't even got any 1 on 1 scenes with Grace and Karen. I believe they were only together in group scenes. This whole final season was a let down for sure.

reply

It was horrible. According to the reports from anonymous sources on set, the only person MM was talking to “ off set” was Eric McCormack. She wasn’t on speaking terms with Messing or Hayes.

reply

Exactly. All the group scenes, or Grace & Karen scenes, were just so awkward you could cut the tension in the knife. Seriously, watch closely. Even when they delivered lines to each other, the camera angles, blocking, so on, they actually share very little direct interaction. Think about direct eye contact with each other in the same shot, actually touching each other, things like that
