However, when will stated "...after 20 more years of service to Karen Walker"......that would make the year of the funeral 1996! Unless of course Karen meant something else?.....

Karen didn't necessarily have to mean that 2016 was in Rosie's last year of service, but just a long time away from the funeral :)
