There's a new formula to a 2010's sitcom, much different than the 90's to early 2K's.
No studio audience, no studio, no musical score, no laugh track. The perfect comparison is Modern Family. 3 families, "scripted reality."
Not to replicate Modern Family. Just the formula. One family: Grace and Leo (or 2nd husband)/youngest teen kids (hey if Jay Pritchard can still father a baby...). Another family: Will and Vince (or 2nd husband) and other kids. Third Family: Ben and Lila and their kids. With Jack and Karen as the ever present lovable support characters they've always been, with or without a visible home.
