Why a remake just 8 years after the series concluded?

I don't get it? It's just like when they remade Halloween, 5 years after the last film in the original series. Just leave the classics alone. I prey to God they never remake The Birds. Well, they kinda did with Birdemic.

These days remakes are to relaunch a series property so they could make money off a familiar franchise. I'm not certain why PSYCHO was remade. Not only was it basically the same movie, but I don't think they had sequels in mind when they did it.

I actually wouldn't mind Robert Bloch's PSYCHO 2 novel being adapted.

A remake of THE BIRDS has been on Platinum Dunes' list for sometime, but I'm not sure what's happening with it.

Psycho IV: The Beginning (1990) was actually a prequel, so it did not "end" in 1990.

Learn to spell. And remakes aren't bad in and of themselves. They function to expose new audiences to material that they will never go and see in the original form.

If a remake is good, no problems.

I would say it might have to do with Anthony Perkins no longer being around.I felt like this and the remake of house on haunted hill started off that remake crazy. Gotta start with the classics first right?
