Nibbler's shadow in pilot

Did anyone else notice Nibbler's shadow around 1:55 in the pilot episode. It's pretty impressive that they thought of this quite a while ahead before it was revealed.

I was added later, when the Pilot was first on TV back in '99 the shadow wasn't there. They just fixed it and now whenever that episode is on TV they show the new version :D

Can anyone validate that? From what I've dug up on the internet(not the most truthful resource) is that it was always there and they had planned the nibbler story from the start.

This reditor has pictures of the original VHS copy of the first season containing the shadow of Nibbler

I saw it for myself once I knew to look for him. So

1) How did he travel back in time and how did he know where and when Fry was going to be?
2) Did he recognize Fry 1,000 years later?

No, Nibbler is really, really old. He says he scanned and noted Fry would have a chance against the Brains, but they would not be there for at least another 1000 years, so he decided he'd freeze Fry to ensure he'd still be alive.

2) Did he recognize Fry 1,000 years later?

We assume so, since he's the one guiding Fry through the battle against the infosphere.

"He's dusted, busted and disgusted, but he's ok"
