I'm sorry, but I thought this was dumb. I don't think they even had him hold back for that reason but just because he didn't think it would be right to kiss her, but seriously SHE JUST THREW UP. No one I know would want to kiss someone who had just puked, and it's kind of ridiculous that she would actually get mad at him for that.

I think it's because he didn't want to take advantage of it and wasn't sure about his feelings yet, but I do believe he started having feelings for her at the party, but he wasn't sure she was into him as well because she was hammered, so he didn't want to kiss her just yet. I don't think HE would care if she had just thrown up. Lol.

It looked like quite a significant amount of time had passed since that had happened and him driving her home, hence her being more sober and them having a normal conversation. More than likely she cleaned herself up, so the two were unrelated, especially in her head.
