Okay, Harry Potter???? REALLY???
No.
----------
Jake M. Smith is MINE!
They may suck, but let's face it...I love my O's!
The last two Harry Potters do fit within the definition of a teen film.
Five good ones off the top of my head:
1. The Breakfast Club
2. Juno
3. Speak
4. Better Luck Tomorrow
5. Napoleon Dynamite
Different times, but I would keep 10 Things, Juno, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, American Graffiti, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Buller's Day Off, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Blackboard Jungle, Dead Poet's Society, Cry Baby, Rebel Without a Cause, War Games, The Karate Kid, Risky Business, Clueless, Big, Carrie (the original one), Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Sandlot, Meatballs, and, not strictly a teen film, but an all-time favorite, Peggy Sue Got Married.
OK, more than 5, but those and many others are ones I like! I could add a bunch more, but that should be a good week-end of film watching!
Cheers!
The Breakfast club? Seriously? Most overrated teen movie ever. 10 things was way better
shareBreakfast Club is one of the best teen movies ever...better than 10 Things...JUST!
Rebel Without A Cause
10 Things I Hate About You
Clueless
Mean Girls
Juno
Some Kind Of Wonderful
16 Candles
Drive Me Crazy (I always seem to want to watch this after I watch 10 Things lol)
"Life...Has No Opposite"
Billsihte! Just because Breakfast Club was the first of its kind doesn't make it better by ANY stretch mate.
shareThat's your opinion :)
That's not why I consider it the best - it reached beyond the typical "Teen Movie" genre and had a heart. It was compassionate and showed that no matter who you are, you still have a heart and stuggles as a teen.
That's just my opinion :)
"Life...Has No Opposite"
Can't Hardly Wait
shareIn no order
*10 things I hate about you
*Clueless
*Can't Hardly Wait
*Mean Girls

Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire

This is harder than I thought haha - in no order:

2. Clueless
3. Can't Hardly Wait
4. Mean Girls
5. Sixteen Candles
To live...to live would be an awfully big adventure.
she's the man is hilarious
shareI find it overrated too, no one mentions Some Kind of Wonderful and that's one of the best teen films I've ever seen, high and above TBC.
Global Warming, it's a personal decision innit? - Nigel Tufnel
I loved Sandlot and Stand By Me - I consider them coming of age stories but not necessarily teen films (though SBM had 13 year old protagonists).

Um why are Dazed and Confused and Fast times at Richmond High not on any of these lists?
shareum because it's "ridgemont" high and someone has mentioned it...

"Here endeth the lesson"
I've never considered Bill and Ted's to be a "teen movie". I don't consider Back to the Future one either, even though it fits, they seem more like sci-fi/comedies than teen movies. Here's my list (alphabetically)
10 Things I Hate About You
Breakfast Club, The
Bring it On
Can't Hardly Wait
Dazed and Confused
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Footloose
Heathers
Pump Up the Volume
SLC Punk
Three O'clock High
Varsity Blues
I excluded movies that I thought belonged more to a different category, such as horror (Final Destination, NOES, etc), musical (Grease), workplace comedy (Empire Records) or that weren't just about teens (Juno).
Even though many (if not all) of these are mentioned, I just want to put my 2 cents in.
Keep in mind, I'm 23
-Angus (I mean, duh)
-Mallrats
-Dazed and Confused
-10 Things I Hate About You
-Bring it On (the original is the ONLY good one)
-SLC Punk
-Ferris Bueller's Day Off
-The Breakfast Club
-Empire Records
-Fast Times at Ridgemont High
-Election
-Jawbreaker (and I can't believe nobody mentioned that one)
-Drive me Crazy
-American Pie (only the first one)
-Can't Hardly Wait
-Clueless
(and last, but certainly not least)
-Grease
I've said it once, and I'll say it a million times:
God I miss the 90s!
What, did you think I was gonna say something important? Pssh!
I wondered when it was released as part of the "High School Reunion" collection, why is Mallrats considered a teen movie? The four main characters are in their early 20s.
shareBecause I imagine the demographic was 17-24 year olds.
What, did you think I was gonna say something important? Pssh!
in no particular order:
1. Mean Girls
2. Bring It On
3. She's All That
4. 10 Things I Hate About You
5. John Tucker Must Die
These are 5 'high schooly' films I liked as a teen (not my all time favourite films!haha!)
