Was there really a match between the Babby Jones, Walter Hagan and Randolph Junah in real life?

because Hagen was a professional and Jones an amateur, the only time they usually competed against eachother was at strokeplay in either the US Open and the British Open. There was however a matchplay event dubbed "The world championship of GOLF" when they played head to head over 36 holes. Hagen won easily. He presented Jones with a pair of inscribed cuff-links.
