Ohhhhh my goooodness JR541, I thought it was just me. I have watched Arthur waaay too many times, never tire of it. You are the first I know of to bring up that line. I love that scene where he says, "He's taking the knife out of the Cheese! Do you think he wants some cheese?" I can't stop laughing.
Where's my DVD? (lol)

Arthur is one of my favorite films of all time.

The movie was based on a novel of the same name. If you read the book, you will find it to be very different. I understand the adaptation, and see how some of the items in the book were too far afield to try to put in a movie, so I'd say it was well done as far as catching the essence of the book.

(Spoiler)
In the book a depressed boy is paired with a man who tells him the story of Bagger Vance to show him the way.

The book and subsequent film is apparently based on the ancient Hindu story of the Bhagavad Gita.

Bagger Vance = Bhagavan (or Krishna)
Rannulph Junuh = Arjuna

The Story has is inspiration from Bhagwad Gita .
Arjun is a prince of Pandavas , supposedly the best Archer of his times .
He lands in battle amidst the best warriors of the country who are also his step brothers and relatives .he loses his nerve and breaks down. Krishna or God who offers to be his charioteer guides him to victory .
