What was your favorite scene from the film? I have lived in Savannah for the past 13 years and I love the scene where the gentleman calls out the scores to the barber shop occupants and people are getting excited about hearing of Junuh's comeback and you see the one man look back and declares "God bless Savannah and the men she propagates!"... Guess you'd have to be a citizen of Savannah to understand it. There is definitely a mindset here that thinks there is no other place on earth like Savannah. The movie "Midnight in the garden of good and evil" expressed that same sentiment.

Hey,
It's great to hear from someone who lives close by! We enjoy taking our two sons out to Tybee and spend the day at the beach. My wife is an attorney in Savannah and she had business at the Federal Courthouse the day they were shooting the scenes with the crowd. She told me she walked right by Robert Redford and could have touched him but she used better judgement. I wish I had the answer for your question but I didn't read the book. I guess I should as the book always seems better than the movie script. In your suggested guesses, don't overlook HHI either. Back then it would have been property just waiting for someone to "develope" it. I've been told the course at the end is down at Jekyll Is though I can't confirm that. My wife pointed out to me that Ms Adele's father's house is located at Gaston & Drayton. I think about that movie every time I pass that intersection. The scene with the city fathers standing on the porch talking to Adele shows Forsyth park in the background made up to look like the 1920's. If you find your answer, please do post it here! The Krewe Island scenes were filmed on Jekyll Island, GA. I have a few photos of the Krewe Island sign as a matter of fact ;) They used the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Look it up, it has quite a bit of history itself.

My favourite scene is when Bagger and Herdy measure the field. The scenery and sound mixing is incredible.

This is kind of late, but, my favorite scene is when Hardy finds Junuh playing poker with the fellows back in the servants quarters behind his house. Matt Damon looked delicious, slouched in the chair with his scruffy beard, cigarette and drink in hand, and I liked his speech and the responses from the others. I recorded that scene til Junuh says, "And finally goes the memory cells. These are tough sonsabitches to kill." and someone says "Uh-huh" softly in the background. That whole segment is just perfect.

btw my favourite scene is probably when adele pulls junuh over and gives him the '10 years and not one single solitary word, you don't do that to someone you love' lecture.. charlize is so cute in this movie..!

My favorite scene was when Bagger was telling Junuh about 'seeing the field.'

The script and music accompaniment to the way Junah looks down the field after he drives...

In Paradisium, made the scene.

Yes. This was exactly what I was thinking as Bagger is explaining that each of us has one authentic swing. The camera cinematography & lighting, score & rythm of this scene is flawless.

I almost numchucked you, you don't even realize!

My absolute favourite scene in the movie is when Baggar does that little dance on the beach when he hears the cheers after Junuh wins.

Favorite scene is at the end of the first round when Junuh finally holes out. It's raining, Jones and Hagen had finished sometime earlier, and Junuh botches an easy putt before finally sinking it. Jones and Hagen leave with most of the spectators immediately after Junuh's ball goes in, as if Junuh was an afterthought in the tournament. Junuh meekly retrieves his ball from the hole and holds it up to a now-empty gallery while Adele watches with a look of concern and pity from under her umbrella.

I think the scene does an excellent job of symbolizing Junuh's isolation. He's a broken man, down in the dumps and exposed to ridicule after a miserable round of golf and everyone's given up on him - including himself - except Bagger, Hardy, and Adele. I find it a subtly poignant scene.

I really like Junuh's final putt scene with the car headlights illuminating the green, the mysterious glow highlighting the line of the putt. Then Junuh urges Hardy to go stand with his father. That was a really special scene.
