I liked Will Smith's performance, but the movie is just so slow and boring. WHat happened?

No idea, but I know I won't ever be watching it again. It's just extremely boring, nothing to keep our attention or make us care about what's going on. It's a snooze-fest.

It has absolutely nothing to do with being superficial. There are a great many movies (even video games) that are extremely slow and thoughtful (even more so than this one) that I enjoy to no end. I simply didn't care for this particular film, it fell flat for me.

I encourage you to wait 20 years and then go back and watch this movie again. Sometimes we aren't ready for certain messages at certain times of life. Maybe in 20 years it will make that connection with you. I absolutely loved the film.

The fake southern accents make this movie unbearable.

The movie was pretty terrible up until Will Smith decides to leave before Junuhs final shot, and is then shown skipping on the beach to a cheering crowd in the background.

Then I simply changed the channel, and gouged my eyes out.

Uh, GOLF is slow. I know, nothing much blew up and there was very little blood. They should have cut in flashbacks from the war showing dead people covered with blood and bombs blowing people up and tanks shooting and stuff, huh?

Too bad you are blind now at the age of 10.

Why is it so bad?

Let's see - laughably bad scrip, awful acting, worst attempts at Southern accents ever, and a racially offensive character who is on prominent display throughout. Oh also that this movie just tried to be the golf version of The Natural.

Or, it could just be that you are an ignorant berk without an ounce of good taste. ;-) Intelligent films cannot appeal to some people. I think you piped up that you fit that crowd. LOL
