Beamen's arm...

...he was intimating to D'Amato that his arm was *beep* e d, and that he'd seen a specialist but didn;t reveal what was said.... anyone know what is problem was likely to have been?

....Whoa! Good Bible.

The way I understood it was he is complaining of a developing injury in his arm (there's a brief shot in a beach montage earlier in the film where he's in pain) simply to emphasise that even the new young QB isn't safe from the injuries everybody else gets. I don't think the specific medical condition was necessary to reveal from a plot standpoint (it could have been anything).

When he goes to D'Amato's house for lunch (coach definately loves flowers...heh) He tells coach how he was treated with other teams before the sharks.. he says that one particular coach tried putting him in at strong safety (dumbass had me tackling 250 lb dudes..) where he seperated his shoulder. A shoulder seperation is really going to mess with you, specially when it's your throwing arm as a quarterback.. So I'm pretty sure that's the history behind it.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Yep you got it Skyzzle. Can't remember if it was safety or cornerback but he was playing defense due to his quick feet and that is how he wrecked his shoulder. It was indeed his throwing shoulder as we see him grab it after throwing.
