How far did they go in the playoffs?

Is there any indication in the film how the playoffs went on for the Sharks after their win with the Dallas Knights? Thank for help.

they lose in the championship

Thanks for the answer. How did you find out? Is there any indication in the film?

The news conference at the end. Either one of the reporters in their question or Pacino in his comments makes that clear.

They say that they lost to San Francisco (can't remember the score), but I didn't know they specified which game. I always figured they lost the next game after the Dallas one.

After Dallas was Minnesota. I assume San Francisco was after Minnesota.

I just re-watched the movie and have the definitive answer - they lost in the Championship game.

Based on the closing press conference, we know they lost to San Francisco. We also know that the next game after Dallas was with Minnesota because Oliver Stone, playing the TV/radio commentator, says so before the Dallas game starts. The other important thing he says which many of us missed is that the game with Minnesota is for the "AFFA conference championship".

Therefore, it is logical to assume that the game following the conference championship was the Pantheon Cup game (with SanFran). The only way that wouldn't hold is if the league has more than 2 conferences, which would be inconsistent with how North American sports leagues are generally structured.

i'm not saying your worng are anything but how was it obvious they lost?

the truth is we can't all be stars, but I'll be god damned if I'll settle for bronze....

It was mentioned during the press conference that they lost to San Francisco in the championship.

Boy did you just put the Kabash on all the super serious analysis in this thread.

reply

It was mentioned they lost to San Francisco, but it was not said at what stage. That was the whole reason this thread exists.

reply

It actually did. Pacino mentions at his press conference its been too since we won a Pantheon cup. San Francisco sure took care of that for us. Stone mentions in the beginning that next week is the conference championship game. After the Conference Championship is the big game.

Having only one uniform for both home/away games for all the AFFA teams is also "inconsistent" with North American sports, haha.

I thought the Pantheon Cup was the Super Bowl for the AFFA.
