Wow. Cameron Diaz ruined this.

Don't get me wrong, I usually love her in movies, but in this one she was a colossal failure! Her acting was atrocious, period.

A lot of people and critics agreed and were very explicit like entertainment weekly saying "Cameron Diaz(doing the worst acting of her career).." you usually don't read that kind of thing!

reply

As critical as I am of this movie and of Cameron Diaz, I can't agree! There wasn't a whole heck of a lot of Christina Pagniacci's character to get hold of, but I thought Diaz got it.

Daddy's little grown up girl really impressed me. I liked her in the part. Could the reason for a lack of critical acclaim possibly be related to the fact that not a lot of women run NFL franchises?

reply

This might seem petty, but I couldn't stand her for YEARS after seeing her in this

reply

i love her in this and thought she held her own in scenes with pacino. in fact all critics weren't harsh on her. she actually got a few good reviews for her role in this

reply

Not an easy role for Diaz playing opposite Pacino. He's the coach she's the deceased owner's daughter. I've seen this movie several times and i always see something knew.

reply

No particular fan of Diaz, but she got the role down to the T.

reply

I think Cameron Diaz was ok in the role, but I would have preferred Zoe Saldana (she may have been too young at the time), Eva Mendes, Patricia Velasquez, Roselyn Sanchez, or Leonor Varela as Christina.

In other words it should've been a latina in the role...how realistic.

reply

Agreed! I can't believe she actually was nominated for awards. Her acting almost had me stop watching. Had it not been for the awesome editing she would have ruined it. Period.

reply

Yeah, pretty much.

Cameron Diaz does just about ruin this flick for me. If I wasn't such a fan of football and how realistic this movie felt.

Oliver Stone doesn't really direct female characters well...Daryl Hannah in Wall Street is a shining example of this as well as Ms. Diaz performance in this film.
