costner?

Is he supporting player in this movie or lead like jfk?

reply

Odd question. Costner is clearly a lead in this movie. The character he portrays was barely a supporting player in the actual events, as far as I can tell.

Have you not seen the movie?

nope. haven't seen it and wasn't sure if it was worth seeing. didn't get too much press. seems to me his glory days were 87-91 with an occasional good one like open range and for love of the game

FWIW, it's not really a Costner vehicle; there's a pretty good ensemble cast of major players. Bruce Greenwood's portrayal of JFK is probably the best I have seen (of JFK.)

I think it is a good movie, 7-8 range. Be warned, though, that KC's accent is like fingernails on a blackboard.

Two good books by and about the character that Costner plays are:

Johnny, We Hardly Knew Ye: Memories of John Fitzgerald Kennedy (O'Donnell is the coauthor along with Dave Powers)

A Common Good: The Friendship Of Robert F. Kennedy And Kenneth P. O'Donnell (by O'Donnell's daughter)

Frank: Just a man.
Harmonica: An ancient race.
