Did The Sinatra Family Approve Of This Film Or Not?

Back in 1998 when this movie was announced by HBO that Nancy Sinatra
and the rest of the Sinatra family were asked for complete access
to her father's memoirs(don't know if Frank actually wrote any) and
that Nancy and Frank Jr. said no way. Is this true or not and was
the Sinatra family even consulted regarding the making of this movie?
I've seen "The Rat Pack" and I enjoyed the movie though I do believe
that the film makers would've taken some liberties regarding actual
events, dates and persons in Frank Sinatra's life. Who knows just
how accurate this film was about the man and his friends? Thanks
in advance for any information.

No. Tina Sinatra produced made-for-tv version of Sinatra starring Philip Casnoff (who actually hails from bdwy stage and sings) which covered maybe 50-60 years in the life of Frank Sinatra. I read they were not pleased with the HBO bio-pic that basically covered Sinatra just during the year 1960, during his involvement with JFK's presidential campaign, his rumored mafia dealings and his time in Vegas with Dean & Sammy (Peter Lawford & Joey Bishop).
