Did Eric Love Lisa At All?

He had a big smile on his face when he saw her until his buddies called her a coyote date which he then dumped her after that. If I was Eric, I would had kicked Mark's ass for calling Lisa that.

Considering how the film plays out, I really doubt it. It'd make it more interesting if he was though and add a bit of complexity to his character.

Well, he DID like her and that shows better judgement in general on his part, but nothing he did ever resembled love.

He was pretty quick to dump her and didn't seem to torn up by her death....

Yeah, he did seem to like her imo. However the film clearly didn't want him to be likeable whatsoever, so they dropped it after the scene (gawd forbid the film take a risk).

I don't think they dropped it, but showed how outside pressure swayed him. They weren't super serious, and he is obviously liked her, but his wanting to be the "big man" on campus, and in the "it" crowd outweighed those small feelings.

This confused me too. But I'm like the above poster, I thought it was because Eric felt pressure to NOT like Lisa, and to think he was better than her. But at that moment when he smiled at her, he honestly looked like he truly liked Lisa. But in the end, popularity & status mean't more to him.

Been trying hard not to get into trouble, But I've got a war in my mind..

No, they definitely dropped it. Plus, the "big man" on the campus only got involved because he was trying to keep his FRIEND out of trouble in the first place (... and then just terrorizes Rachelfor the hell of it. I forgot how awful this movie was)

He seemed like he did at first and once she died the film really took a 180 with his character
