Did anyone else notice or think that Matthew Perry's character seemed so much like his character Chandler Bing on 'Friends'? Especially when he and his co-worker are applying for the job at the beginning of the movie and he makes all the unpleasant, nervous jokes to his future boss and his co-worker/partner has to stop him.

I guess when you're on a hit comedy series and you play a popular character for so long it may be hard to seperate yourself from that character.

Great movie though. I definitely enjoyed it!

The truth is that Matthew Perry's character, Chandler, is written to include a lot of his real life mannerisms. That's probably why you see those same mannerisms in his movie characters.

I agree.
I love Chandler, so I don't mind seeing "him" pop up in other roles anyway. :D

yer..like for example he was the one who cameup with chandler going 'can he BE any more gay' etc.

Also, the gay thing is cause loads of people thought he was gay on the first day on the set of friends!!

Yeah, they're basically the same person, but that's okay lol. He was funny as Chandler and as Oscar.

Every time I see Mathrew Perry doing a different character it is almost always one very Chandler-esque.

The thing to remember on this movie is that it was filmed at the height of Matthew Perry's career (not to say it will not bounce back up again) and Chandler was such a popular character at the time. Whenever he was hit up to do movies, they (the producers) wanted him to be that type of guy because they thought it would fill theater seats. So, "Fools Rush In", "Three to Tango etc. . . had many very Chandleresque moments.

I agree completely, but I think its just Matthew Perry's style of comedy. I think it even says on the imdb.com trivia for this film (I know it does on Perry's page), that he gets asked "Are you always this nervous?" in two different films--Three to Tango and The Whole Nine Yards.

I agree completely, but I think its just Matthew Perry's style of comedy. I think it even says on the imdb.com trivia for this film (I know it does on Perry's page), that he gets asked "Are you always this nervous?" in two different films--Three to Tango and The Whole Nine Yards.
