Movies of the 90's

You know it's a 90's movie when a random person that you pitch an architectural project to, asks you to spy on his mistress.
Also, what is the "Gay Professional Man of the Year"?
Why is that such an important event?
Is there a Straight Professional Man of the Year?
Black Professional Man of the Year?
White Professional Man of the Year?
And why - at the Awards was everyone involved in this story?
Also, unresolved, the boss asked Perry specifically to spy on his mistress, this was left out in the open...the only reason she was upset with the guy was because he was not gay. Even though, he admitted to not being gay and she told him: oh, it doesn't matter, it's no big deal, you don't have to hide it from me.
Loved Matthew Perry in this, he has great timing...but this is a cliche of a movie, the actual story is made for people who don't like to think at all.

Yes, it's a 90's movie but all the other points are encompassed by the hitchcockian phrase 'the MacGuffin'. Once the story gets rolling it's funny, cute and really enjoyable.
