Who would become the BOSS if the show were to return???
Not a lot of canadates left on the board! I'm thinking Ms Meadow would step up in a big way!

Na she was ruthless but the opposite of cold. More emotional uncontrolled weak. Her strengt came only from her connection with Tony.
Remember her conflict with the russian woman. When it got tough she cried, victimized herself and did nothing. Tony had this quality to see adversity as challenge to rise as a man, Janice saw it as an oportunity to paint herself as the victim.

Sorry to burst your mangina but mob bosses in Italy aren't women. Sometimes the sisters or wives of bosses help, but they're not the boss because women aren't made for that.

what about that tall brunette in Italy who tony met? the one who collected her toenail clippings?? same time we met Furio?
Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.
Did Benny survive?
shareThere was no one left with leader qualities. Ralph and Chris could have ended up in that spot but are no more. Have to say Chris would have been excellent for a 2.0 version of Sopranos as the new boss. First season he fights for it against the others and then settles down with it.
No one. That's the point. It was done. If they forced a new boss the show would've jumped the shark. Forget Meadow, that's stupid. Imagine Paulie as the boss...even for a second. *Cringe*
I do think if they would not have killed Chris and let him grow a little more as Tonys sidekick he would have made a very very good boss in an alternate Sopranos 2.0 version.
He is an interesting character with demons much like Tony and positive character traits like his insight into what his Job really is, his ability to reflect more than his colleagues and he has a clear weakness with his drug problems.
I would watch it.
Know what, if Michael Imperioli adopted the same look as his character in The Lovely Bones, I could see it. I guess with most of NY's top tier gone he'd command a degree of respect across the board.
Patsy Parisi always seemed pretty solid and calm. Probably would have been Tony's consigliere too if Silvio didn't make it through.
There are also a lot of hints via the camerawork & editing that Bobby Jnr. Is headed down the same path as Tony.
Did Old Man DiMeo ever even actually pass away in prison?
Patsy could have been calling the shots for Larry Barese
or the rapist projecting the rape victim's the real rapist for filing charges
I'm sure there were made guys in the family that we did not see. The family itself had six crews - the Tony Soprano crew, the Junior Soprano crew (largely defunct), the Curto crew, the Aprile crew and the Barese crew (largest in the family).
If Tony was killed, it would be safe to say that Larry Barese became Acting Boss with possibly Paulie or one of the other capos as Street Boss.
Wasnt Larry Barese also cooperating with the justice system. I think I remember that they talk about that in Tonys crew and that there was one day were he sat across Junior Soprano in the court room. I am pretty sure.
shareThere is no way Christopher could ever be boss.- even if you look past his many weaknesses (not the least of which was his horrible drug problem), he's just not intelligent enough.
Meadow may look good in a business suit, but c'mon.
Janice - cold, ruthless and manipulative she may be, but could you see any of the guys taking orders from her? No way.
Of the guys left, there really wasn't anyone except Larry. Patsy maybe as consigliere.
Women are never bosses. Don't you know that by now? Neither Meadow or Janice would ever be boss, due to being women.
I'm thinking if Silvio ever woke up from that coma he would have been the obvious choice.
I agree about women bosses, although we had the Italian female boss Annalisa and Lorraine Calluzzo, Lorraine didn't pan out as well as we hoped,(kinda odd how almost as soon as she's introduced she gets whacked, as if to say women aren't mobsters, especially considering how she begged for her life, twice.) There have been plenty of notorious female criminals in real life such as Griselda Blanca and Madame Queen and while I am not sexist I doubt a female would become appointed boss even of the fledgling Soprano/DiMeo family without being a capo first. And as far as the choices mentioned, Carm would do better than Janice and Meadow. Rosalie Aprile was tough but she probably knew nothing about running a crime family. Angie Bonpensero is probably the best female candidate since she's connected but c'mon huh, as Phil said about Tony being a "boss" in Jersey.
Patsy is an interesting choice but Chris barely respected him and eventually passed over Patsy as captain of Paulie's crew. Larry technically was a snitch even though he only ratted the late Jackie Sr. Also he already had the feds on his back as a captain, I figure he would decline if asked to be the boss.
Paulie was around since Johnny Boy was boss and wasn't upped to capo until season 2 when Furio came to America and New York knew he wasn't in the top three and was correct, poor Paulie."heh-heh". And Benny is too young and took way too many beatings to ever become boss.
I think that leaves Alley Boy Barese. I am surprised that no one mentioned him, but not that surprised. While he seemed respectable and insightful judging from his conversation with Richie April and when talked to Silver and Patsy about Ralph being"missing" he kinda sounded like a dumbass with how he repeated everything Richie said during their convo.
In my opinion, I bet a different New York family Whacked Tony for killing a Boss to send a message about killing bosses and I would bet that the Lupertazzi family would choose the next boss even if it was a New Yorker, or a Jersey capo they know they can control.
I think this is evidence that the Soprano family sucked. Ray And Eugene died without anyone ever knowing they were rats and the top two earners, Ralph and Vito had to keep their sex lives a secret for different reasons.
Even Sil wasn't exactly a good boss and Tony told him that a season or two before Silvio as acting boss that he couldn't handle being boss. And he was correct.
Now I see why everyone is suggesting females lmao.
Of the non-snitch dead characters , maybe Bobby, Gigi, or Philly Spoons Parisi who technically was boss between seasons 1 and 2. But never Chris, Mikey Palmice, or Vito. Whew, sorry for dragging that out.
Either one of those possibilities or Furio comes back now that Tony is gone.
Embrace Debate.

Paulie
...but they hung him anyway.
Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry.
Perhaps Carmella would take over as boss. She was intelligent and ruthless. Maybe it is time for a female mob boss.
shareCarmella was not ruthless at all, except in the very passive-aggressive way that she used against Tony. Also, she was morally and religiously opposed to the life of crime that her husband led, even though she benefited from it every step of the way. Also, she was not even a member of their Thing. She could never have been Boss.
Neither could Janice or Meadow because again, they were not even members.
The obvious choice would be Silvio, presuming he came out of his coma. He was a Made guy, a Captain, and he was smart and respected enough to be Tony's consiglierre. Plus he was briefly acting Boss after Junior shot Tony, while he was recovering.
If Sill died, I think Paulie would probably be next in line.
