Where did Denzel get the money to pay the Russians?

If I recall correctly, they stole 1 million from Roger but that money was split between Denzel and his henchmen. That means Denzel kept 250k. But then he had Jakes 250k which adds up to 500k, and the otherr 3 members received 250k each which means the money seized was 2.75 million, not 3 million like they said in the movie. Either way, Denzel was short on cash. Where did he get the rest?

It's called a plot hole, and quite a big one...

I'm sure this points been brought up many times, I know I've brought it up. Yeah it doesn't make any sense at all, cause if Denzel did pay off the Russians with that million (which he was planning on doing) what would he tell the rest of his guys later? "Ah sorry guys I lost it..." isn't going to go so well...

Yeah this was a pretty huge plot hole IMO, considering the writers could have easily fixed it by adjusting the math a bit better...

We see him taking money from other people too. He seemed to be a part of multiple operations and schemes, so I imagine he had a good start toward the money he owed the Russians. Roger was the big score that settled the debt.

He didn't have $0 in his bank account. As a well-decorated detective, he likely had enough money to cover the remaining $500,000.

Yes, I'm sure over time he had the 5 mil or at least he tried to get as much as he can and probably just left to the Russians with whatever he had. He was scamming his neighborhood, roger, other criminals and also had money from his job.

He had enough.

Alonso told Jake there was over $4 million. He told the Wisemen he had Sandman's $40,000 which was a tax of the $4 million they were going to seize from Roger with the warrant. He was going to deposit the rest in one of his first accounts.

They were planning to report they seized $3 not $4 million. So he got the $1 million from the taxation without representation scene in the kitchen.
