Spoiler Was frank going to get rid of Leo at the Yards ?

Ok, even if he tried earlier by talking to willie about Leo and Erika, I'm not sure that Frank wanted to kill Leo when they meet at the yards. He has a gun but i think it might be for his own protection since he doesn't really know his nephew. I don't think frank could kill someone on his own. There is furthermore Erica waiting in the car. If Leo was shot, she would have been straight to the police. I think he wants to talk and try to figure a way out, maybe by giving him money so he could leave some place else. But the scene is perfect because Leo thinks he wants tyo killl him and decides to escape.
He says to seymor "what are you guys talking about ? i'm not doing anything, this prick is my family". He makes a try when his wife says tat she saw Leo and that he is going to be a problem, but he realizes after tat he is not a murderer nor an executioner.
What is your theory ?

I agree - murder is beyond Frank. His world is crumbling around him because of this kid, or so he thinks, and like the rest of the characters he fears for the future - mixing booze and pills, manipulating Willie with stories about Leo and Erika from the past. Like you said, it seems he is desperate to hang onto what he has built but cannot cross that line and take a life to do it.

i think Frank took the gun for protection, Leo saw it and just freaked out and got the hell out of dodge.

I agree too... Frank assumed that Leo killed the officer. Because Willie did not say anything about that to Frank. So Frank thought that Leo is a dangerous man. He needed just a precaution I guess.
