I've weighed this question often and watched for "clues." I don't think there is an answer, but if Joaquin wanted to give a hint that Willie did intentionally kill her, I noticed the kiss he forces on her seconds before she "falls" feels very much like a goodbye to me. Like you could almost hear him whisper goodbye without words, ya know. It's a split second of something that switches in his body or his spirit in that kiss. Either I'm hyper-sensitive or Joaq's just that good!
shareI just watched it. She goes over accidentallly, but he certainly should not have been forcing himself on her or fighting with her. the fighting is what caused her death. But he sure didn't push her if that is what you are implying.

It seems like she accidently flew over the rail after she was struggling with willie. He tried to force her to kiss him and just kind of shoved her, but not really meaning to kill her.
