Yeah, and I don't think Charlize,Joaquin and Mark were that famous back in 2000.

i dont even think it got a cinema release here in england, probs mainly down to marketting of the subject matter and the names attached to it at the time.

they just let the movie drop without a push

It was a small film by a relatively unknown director. It had limited release. The specificity of the setting would have little appeal to the general public.
It's too bad. It's such a perfect tragedy. So well acted and staged.

Thank God for DVD. I'll bet this doesn't even show up on cable.

I didn't think Buffalo Soldiers would be on, but I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe there is reason to hope.

To me its a compelling movie of family, trust, betrayal, strength with an ensemble cast of superb actors. The disco scene early in the start of the film reminded me of the disco scene in 2Lovers.

I wondered that myself and funny enough, HBO and SHOWTIME played it like almost everyday, which was how I ran into it and liked it

The title isn't exactly catchy. I'm not saying I could have thought of a better one, but what I am saying is it doesn't convey much of anything about what to expect from what I do think is a good movie.
